Professional Siding Installation Services

Siding is the weather-facing skin on a wall, but most of its performance comes from what sits behind it — the weather barrier, the flashing at openings and the drainage path. Nearly every siding failure we are called to is a flashing failure, not a failure of the siding.

What is behind it matters more

Some water always gets behind siding. What decides the wall is whether it can drain out and dry.

Siding sheds most water, but some always gets behind it — that is normal and expected. What decides whether a wall lasts is whether that water can drain out and dry, which is the job of the weather barrier and the flashing.

Almost every siding failure we are called to is a flashing failure at a window, a door or a penetration, not a failure of the siding itself.

How it works

Your siding in four steps

No mystery about what happens or when. This is the same sequence on every job we take.

  1. Tell us about the building

What is on it now, how old it is, and whether anything is getting behind it.

  2. We look behind the siding

The weather barrier and the flashing decide the wall, so that is what we check.

  3. Barrier, flashing, siding

Openings detailed properly — that is where nearly every siding failure starts.

  4. Trims finished, site cleared

Base trim set clear of the ground, corners closed, and everything cleaned up.

Metal siding on working buildings

Durable, matched to the roof, and needing essentially nothing done to it.

  • The obvious choice on a shop

On shops, barns and post-frame buildings, metal siding is the obvious choice: it is durable, it matches the roof and it needs essentially nothing doing to it.

  • Base trim is where walls fail

The details that matter are the base trim where the panel meets the ground or slab, and the corner and opening trims. Panel bottoms sitting in dirt or splashing water is how an otherwise good wall starts rusting from the bottom up.

Siding questions

The things people ask us most often before booking this work.

What siding materials do you fit?

Metal siding on shops, barns and post-frame buildings, and residential siding on homes. Which suits depends on the building, the exposure and your budget, and we will go through it on site.

Can siding go over what is already there?

Sometimes, but it is worth thinking hard about. Covering existing siding hides whatever condition the wall is in underneath, and if there is trapped moisture you have sealed in a problem rather than fixed it.

How long does metal siding last?

A long time, and the coating rather than the steel is what determines it. The usual failure point is not the panel face but the bottom edge, where splashing and ground contact start corrosion.

Will new siding make my building warmer?

Only slightly on its own. If warmth is the goal, the insulation in the wall matters far more than the siding, and re-siding is the natural moment to improve it because the wall is open.

Can you match my existing siding?

Often closely, though an exact match to weathered material is rarely possible. On a visible elevation we will discuss it beforehand rather than let it be a surprise.

Do you replace trim and flashing as well?

Yes, and we would generally insist on it. Fitting new siding to old flashing is how a new wall leaks in its first year.

How long does a siding job take?

It depends on the size of the building and how many openings there are — windows and doors are where the time goes, because each one is a flashing detail. We give dates in writing.

Can you do siding and a roof together?

Yes, and there is a real saving in doing so. One mobilisation, one set of scaffolding or lifts, and the roof-to-wall junction gets detailed as one thing rather than two.

Does siding need painting?

Coated metal siding does not, which is much of its appeal. Other materials vary. We will tell you what upkeep the option you are choosing actually needs.

What areas do you cover for siding?

The same service area from Harrison as the rest of our work, covering North Arkansas and much of Southwest Missouri.
