Shop and Garage at Shell Knob

Shell Knob is Table Rock lake property, and a good share of it is owned by people who are not there year-round. That shapes what is worth building: an all-metal envelope that needs nothing doing to it between visits, rather than anything that wants painting or checking.

The main building went up post-frame on a poured slab with a block stem wall, then took olive metal walls and a dark metal roof. The stained timber posts and gable trusses across the front are the one decorative move on it — everything else is chosen for maintenance.

The second building is the same construction in a plain charcoal, without the porch. Two structures, one trip, one mobilisation of concrete.
